Summary

A transport raft and paddle-steamers on the Murray River. According to a researcher, these are 'Paddle Steamer Sapphire in the middle of the picture with PS Mannum (the first one) in the top right. Looks like the Pearl barge moored in the foreground. This photo is interesting as both steamers have their engines in forwards, but there is clearly a towline going from the Mannum to either the Sapphire, or the barge that the Sapphire has alongside (on her far side).'
